When booking with Western Sky Activities, a wet suit, booties, helmet and splash jacket is provided at no additional cost (typically there is a charge for this).
Trip Choices
When determining the best raft trip for you and your group, here are some considerations:
1. Age range, physical condition and ability level of the group.
2. The length of the trip - 1/2 day, full day or multi-day.

Colorado River (class I & II) This trip is perfect for novice or families as it winds through the beautiful lower Gore Canyon. Full and Half day trips are available.
Ruby Ripple (class I & II) Perfect if you want a mild, flat water raft trip with small scale rapids and beautiful mountain scenery. This is another good trip for families with small children (under 6). Half day trips are available.
Blue River Half Day Trip (class II & III) Located just a few minutes North of Silverthorne, this half day trip runs through Boulder Canyon. This is a great trip for rafters of all abilities and people looking for a quick nearby trip.
Brown's Canyon Arkansas River (class III+) Colorado's most popular rafting trip begins at the base of the stunning Collegiate Mountains and soon you quickly drop into the exciting Brown's Canyon with thrilling rapids. Full and half day trips are available.
Bighorn Canyon (class III) A great trip for all levels with full and half day trips available.
Narrows (class III+) Combining exciting white water with mountain and canyon scenery. Full day trips with minimum age of 10.
Clear Creek Half Day Trip (class III & IV) The Clear Creek run offers a lot of exciting thrills as you float through the Historic town of Idaho Springs.
Royal Gorge (class IV & V) Looking for big water, this trip is adrenalin filled with lots of rapids through the Royal Gorge Canyon. Sure to excite even the most experienced rafters. Previous rafting experience suggested and good physical condition needed. Minimum age of 16. Full and half day trips available.
The Numbers Arkansas River (class IV & V) This trip is a demanding stretch of the Arkansas River that has continuous class IV & V rapids. Previous rafting experience is suggested and good physical condition is needed. Full and half day trips available. Minimum age of 16 or older.
Two Day - Overnight Raft Trip (class III - IV) Enjoy 2 exciting days and one peaceful night on the river with experienced guides. All equipment and meals are provided to make it 2 days you'll never forget.
Lunch
A delicious lunch is served buffet style on all full day trips along with a beverage.
Paddle and Oar Boats
Most trips offer a choice of a paddle boat (where everyone paddles the boat) or an oar boat (where the guide navigates the raft). Also, you can have a combination of both. Recommended minimum age for paddling is 12 years or older.
Weather
Trips are rarely canceled due to weather, so come prepared. Splash jackets, wet suits and booties are provided, which will keep you drier and warmer. Remember, in Colorado the weather changes quickly. Temperatures are typically warmer at the different river locations compared to Summit County since they are at a lower elevation.
What To Bring
Swim suit or quick dry clothing.
- Dry set of clothing for after the raft trip.
Rafting company provides a life jacket, helmet, wet suit, booties and splash jacket. Your guide will have a dry bag for small items.
